Ordering custom medals for your event should be exciting — not stressful. Whether you’re organising a charity race, corporate challenge, school sports day or local competition, understanding our 7 step process can help you plan confidently and avoid last-minute panic.
This guide walks you through the full journey of ordering custom made medals, from submitting artwork to receiving your final delivery.
1. Start With Your Initial Idea or Logo
You don’t need to be a designer. Most customers simply provide:
a logo
a rough sketch
a theme or brief
or sample medals they like

2. Get a quick quote

3. Choose Your Medal Type
Sustainable wooden medals can be laser cut to any shape or size, whereas slate medals, colour ceramic medals and log slice medals are pre-cut.
Medal types:
Sustainable wooden medals: 3mm or 5mm thick. Can be cut to any shape and size
Slate medals: 70mm, 85mm or 100mm in diameter
Slate coasters: 100mm in diameter with soft feet on the back
Ceramic medals: 76mm diameter
Log slice medals: 100mm diameter

4. Decide on engraving or colour printing / single or double side design / plain or branded ribbons
You may choose laser engraved wooden medals for crisp detail and great value. Alternatively, UV colour printing on wood creates bold, vibrant finishes — ideal for colourful designs and brand detail.
You can also decide if you would like a double sided medal design and if you would like plain colour ribbons (included in the standard medal price) or upgrade to printed ribbons with your event details, logo or brand colours.
Once you confirm your order and make payment, we create a custom design proof featuring shape, size, design detail and ribbon colour.
5. Approve Your Digital Proof
Once your order is confirmed, you’ll receive a digital proof. This shows:
your design
ribbon attachment
any colour elements
overall layout
Nothing goes into production until you approve the digital proof.
6. Production: UK-Made Craftsmanship
All medals are cut, engraved or printed, and ribboned here in the UK. This ensures:

Production typically takes 3–4 weeks, depending on your order size and type of medal.
